About the author

Thanks for visiting 123dspace.com. While this model is based on scientific evidence, it is built around conceptual rather than mathematical models. Some of the ideas and concepts presented here differ from widely accepted interpretations of experimental observations.

The purpose of this site is to share ideas with others who are interested in the frontiers of science - ideas that hopefully may spark ideas in others that will lead to exciting discoveries and applications.

My name is Al Olmsted and I've worked in a number of positions in business, including research, operations, human resources, and training & development. I've worked for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Sandia National Laboratories, Presbyterian Healthcare Systems, and MTS Systems Corporation. I've also been a science teacher and counselor in the public schools. Currently, I'm an academic advisor at North Central Michigan College. In addition to science, I enjoy cartooning, writing, and learning about other cultures.

I have an M.A. in training & development from the University of New Mexico, an M.A. in counseling and a B.S. degree in science from Northern Michigan University, and secondary science teacher certification from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Originally from the U.P. (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), my wife, Mary, and I now live in Petoskey - about a half-hour below the Mackinac Bridge. Our son, Evan, is a medical student at Michigan State University.
